Bottles & Cans

Acceptable Recycling Materials
Recycle bottles, cans and plastic containers.
Glass
  • All colors of glass beverage and food containers
    (Labels are okay)
Metal
  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin/steel food and beverage cans
    (Labels are okay. Jar lids are accepted.)
Plastic Containers with recycling symbols 1-2:
  • Detergent bottles
  • Milk and juice jugs
  • Motor oil bottles
  • Soft drink and water bottles
  • Colored bottles are OK

Unacceptable Recycling Materials
Un-Recyclable Glass, Metal and Plastic
  • Window glass, mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramics, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes
  • Plastic bags, food/deli trays, plant trays or pots, irrigation pipe, small furniture, toys or Styrofoam
  • Tubs (such as yogurt or margarine containers)
Construction Debris
  • Concrete, rocks, dirt
Electronic / Universal Waste
  • Televisions, computers, cell phones, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury switches

Cardboard & Newspaper

Acceptable Recycling Materials
Recycle cardboard, newspaper and magazines.
Mixed Paper
Transport all recyclable paper in brown paper bags or place loose in your gray cart. Please DO NOT put recyclable paper in plastic bags.

  • Chip/Box board (shoe boxes, cereal boxes, etc.)
  • Egg cartons (not Styrofoam)
  • Junk mail (sorted)
  • Magazines
  • Newspaper
  • Paper Packaging
Cardboard Clean, corrugated cardboard must be broken down no larger than 3' x 3' in size. Place in the wheeled recycling cart for collection. Please remove plastic liners from boxes.

  • Deep tone, fluorescent colored paper
  • Tyvex (non-tearing) envelopes

  • Paper with plastic coatings (such as photographs)

Special dumpsters can be provided exclusively for cardboard.
Cardboard Only
Different sized bins and compactors are available depending on the volume of cardboard generated by your business. Cardboard must be flattened or broken down.

WRAP Program

We realize that there are businesses in our community that are doing a great job of reducing waste and recycling but whose efforts go unrecognized. We would encourage these businesses to apply for the State of California Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP).
